Andrea Edmonds grew up in Sydney, and from an early age developed a love for art, especially drawing & painting. After completing a bachelor of Visual arts in 1997, she has worked as a freelance illustrator and painter, undertaking corporate and private commissions. In 2001, Andrea joined Walt Disney Animation Australia as a trainee in-between artist, where she learned more about movement, expression and making drawings come to life. This experience gave her the opportunity to work on the films ‘The Lion King 2’ and ‘The Jungle Book 2’.
From 2004-2006, her illustrations were printed on a range of greeting cards produced under the name ‘Ink City Studios’ which were popular at local craft markets. Featuring mainly cats, these designs can be viewed here and can also be purchased as 8" x 10" (A4) prints. Gaining inspiration from nature, wildlife, humour, music, people, and observations of life in general, Andrea delights in creating art that can be enjoyed for future years. Her favourite media is acrylic paint, charcoal, pastels and ink.
